What is Thai Massage?

Traditional Thai Massage is a therapeutic technique that dates back thousands of years. It is said that the Buddha used to receive thai massage amongst the nuns and monks that were traveling with the Buddha, spreading Buddhism and these medicinal techniques all over Southeast Asia. Thai massage is performed fully clothed (in loose or athletic clothing) on a special mat on the floor (not a massage table).. Thai massage uses different techniques including stretching and putting pressure to either open or constrict different Sen (energy) lines in the body to correct the flow of life energy. Sen (energy) lines correspond to different parts of the body, such as the bones, muscles, blood, and nerves. Some Sen (energy) lines also affect the mind and consciousness.
